Drinking coffee could be good for your skin

This week the Daily Mail reported that drinking coffee could be good for your skin. “Having four cups per day lowered the risk of rosacea by 20 percent in comparison with those who drank one cup per month”, according to the Mail Online website. The article explains how studies by a research team in the US found that only caffeinated coffee improves the chances of reducing the risks of getting rosacea. “Researchers theorize coffee lowers the risk because it has anti-inflammatory properties and narrows blood vessels, which reduces redness.”

Evidence has been found in the past that drinking coffee could help reduce the risk of heart disease, cancer, dementia, diabetes and depression.

If a child who needs a pen doesn’t yet have one they will be provided with the two pens available in the standard prescription. The article states that “the new NHS guidance to pharmacists and dispensing doctors relates to 0.15mg pens, prescribed to children who weigh less than 25kg (four stone).”

Track the NHS’s performance in your area

We all know that the NHS is under immense pressure every day. But did you know that you can see how the NHS service is faring in your area with the NHS tracker?

You can check performance levels for the four key NHS waiting-time measures of A&E treatment, cancer care, planned operations and care, such as knee and hip replacements, and access to psychological treatment such as counselling.
